Well I know some of you may be wondering why I haven't posted any pics of my new baby girl Rylin yet but we have been kind of busy. Right now Rylin is in the NICU. She has some major problems with reflux and swallowing and choking. When we were in the hospital, she had just finished having a bottle and she started turning a little purple. I called the nurse in and told her that she looks purple and the nurse grabbed Rylin and ran to the nursery. I of course went after her. They put some oxygen on her and she was just fine. They monitored her for awhile and told me it happens quite often and that she should be fine. I had a feeling this was not the end of it. Lots of times when she would eat she would choke a little or seem to have a hard time swallowing and her lips would go a little purple. On Thursday, May 7 I set Rylin down on my bed to go do something with Macie for just a minute. I went back to check on her and she was wide awake, purple, her eyes looked glazed and her lips were pursed together and you could tell she wasn't able to get any air. I grabbed her and flipped her over and started hitting her back and after a little bit she took in some air. Anyways I thought my child had almost died and I hate to think what would have happened had I not gone back in my room to check her. She did another little episode when I fed her a little while after that. We ended up going to the emergency room and they admitted us to the hospital in Pediatrics. We were there until Saturday afternoon. They sent us home with an apnea monitor, oxygen, and Rylin is on some medicines too. They don't know why for sure but her oxygen levels are low. So we thought she was improving and doing better and we were hoping to get her off of her oxygen today. I took her to the doctor's office today for an oxygen test to see how she does without it. I knew I needed to feed her a bottle while I was there so we could see how her oxygen does when she eats because in the hospital it would drop when she ate. I almost didn't take the bottle. So when we were in the office they said okay we are going to watch her oxygen for awhile. Just stay in this room and I said okay, I'm going to feed her too and see how she does while eating. Soon after I started feeding her, she did this deep coughing noise where no air came out and then she couldn't get a breath. I started patting her back because most of the time she comes out of it on her own, she still wouldn't take a breath and she was starting to turn purple. I yelled out that I needed help. The nurse came in and I told her she was choking or not breathing. I was hitting Rylin on the back. Her eyes were glazed over again and she was just lifeless and purple. They went running to get the doctor. Soon her doctor Sheryl came in and grabbed her and was turning her around and I think patting her back and then she said she blew in her face and it made her intake some air finally. They quickly got some oxygen on her and she came right back. Within just a couple minutes there was several nurses, doctors and a team with equipment totally out of breath from running to get there. I guess one of the nurses had called in a code blue and they all were glad to see it worked so well. I can't tell you how thankful I am that it happend at the doctor's office instead of home again. I feel like I have almost lost my child twice now and it scares me to death.
After that they had us go and do an x-ray where she swallows some stuff and they see if she refluxes and if her anatomy is normal. Her anatomy looks good!!! She does have reflux. Afterwards I was talking to her doctors and they said they wanted to put her in the NICU. They aren't quite sure why this is happening and I have no idea how long we will be there. Hopefully she will grow out of it quickly.
I love my baby girls. They are so cute and precious.

Oh Cammie, I am so sorry that you have to go through this! I feel your pain. Hopefully the medicine will help her reflux, and she'll start breathing better. Andrew's oxygen saturation levels would drop a lot when he first started eating, but he eats like a champ now. Keep your chin up, and know that we are praying for you guys and your sweet baby! Let us know if we can do anything. Feel free to call me if you just need to talk.
Hang in there Cam. Call if you need us!
Scary Cam! We will be praying for her. Hang in there. We are thinking of you.
Hey girl- Sorry it's been so crazy for you. I know somewhat how you feel. Emma would do the same thing her first week of feeding in the NICU. What is so nice is all the modern Technology, and medical staff. We'll be praying for you.
My heart goes out to you! How scary! keep us posted. You'll be in our prayers.

I am so sorry, Cammie! I will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine how scary that must've been. I hope it will continue to get better. You are such a great mom!
So sad to hear to that you don't have your little at home with you right not, but I will keep you guys in my prayers.
I am so glad that you were around doctors when she stopped breathing. I hope she is doing better soon and you can bring her home soon as well!
Can't wait to see some pics!
How scary. Tacoma had to do that test where he drank white stuff as they x-rayed his throat and esophagus. I have never been so traumatized to see my baby strapped to a table as they force stuff down his throat. So hang in there I know it will get better. We will keep you in our prayers
So sorry little Rylin is struggling!! We're thinking of you guys and would love to help with Macie if you need us to!
Cam and Dustin,
We are thinking of you. I am sure that Rylin will be fine. You are in our prayers. Love and hugs, Becky
