So on January 8 or 9 Rylin started out in the morning with some little red bumps popping up around her body. We didn't know what they were or what they were from and just decided to watch it. Well it just kept getting worse and I decided to call the doctor and take her in later that night to be sure of what it was. By night time it was getting much worse and I was so glad I took her to the doctor. You could definitely tell they were turning into hives and she was swelling in some areas like her ear. The doctor figured it was an allergic reaction to her antibiotic that she had been on for about a week. So he said to give her benedryl if she seemed like she was itching a lot and to make sure she was always breathing okay and that they would probably take a few days to go away.

When I went to the doctor's office and the nurse was asking us questions, I showed her Rylin's ear and how it was swelling and I asked the nurse if she had ever seen the movie "Hitch," because that was what Rylin's ear was reminding me of was when Will Smith's character had an allergic reaction and his ears were swelling. It was a good laugh in a not so fun situation.

Dustin and I took a bunch of pics that night to remember what she looked like and Rylin was just as happy as could be while we were taking them. She is such a good and joyful baby.

So we thought that first night was the worst of it and that it would get better after that and giving her benedryl pretty regularly, but no, no, no. It got much worse. It was like it had to get really bad in a spot and as soon as that area got better, it went to another area. It went over
EVERY part of her body before they went away. So this started on a Friday night and by Monday or Tuesday night they were miraculously gone. Crazy, crazy. The last part of her body it went to was her pretty little face.

Poor thing, good thing she's such a good baby!
Poor baby! I'm glad it's all cleared up now!
Oh, so sad! Glad the little cutie is better!
Dang :( that sucks when our little ones start having problems and ya just dont know right off what caused it but we are glad you guys got it fixed :) um Cammie I think that bathing Rylin once a week in mud would make her immune to all rashes (from thayne) and an occational tag along hunt twice a week with me and dustin might boost those immunities :)
I feel so sorry for her. As you know I have had my own experiences with hives, (everyday for 2 years when I was pregnant and nursing David) SO I know how horrible they are. I am glad that she was to small to scratch herself. That really makes them huge. I hope she doesn't have to have those ever again. At least she could smile still
